इन्द्रियस्येन्द्रियस्यार्थे रागद्वेषौ व्यवस्थितौ ।
तयोर्न वशमागच्छेत्तौ ह्यस्य परिपन्थिनौ ॥34॥
indriyasyendriyasyārthe rāgadveṣau vyavasthitau
nabhaśca pṛthivīṃ caiva tumulo’bhyanunādayan
indriyasya = of the senses; indriyasyārthe = in the sense objects; rāga = attachment; dveṣau = also detachment; vyavasthitau = put under regulations; tayoḥ = of them; na = never; vaśaṃ = control; āgacchet = one should come; tau = those; hi = certainly; asya = his; paripanthinau = stumbling blocks.;
Attachment and aversion for the objects of the senses abide in the senses; let none come under their sway; for they are his foes.
