सञ्जय उवाच ।
एवमुक्त्वा हृषीकेशं गुडाकेशः परन्तप ।
न योत्स्य इति गोविन्दमुक्त्वा तूष्णीं बभूव ह ॥ २-९॥
sañjaya uvāca
evamuktvā hṛṣīkeśaṃ guḍākeśaḥ parantapa
na yotsya iti govindamuktvā tūṣṇīṃ babhūva ha
sañjaya uvāca = Sanjaya said; evaṃ = thus; uktvā = speaking; hṛṣīkeśaṃ = unto Krishna, the master of the senses; guḍākeśaḥ = Arjuna, the master of curbing ignorance; parantapa = the chastiser of the enemies; na yotsye = I shall not fight; iti = thus; govindaṃ = unto Krishna, the giver of pleasure to the senses; uktvā = saying; tuṣṇiṃ = silent; babhūva = became; ha = certainly.;
Sanjaya said: Having spoken thus to Hrishikesha, Gudakesha, the destroyer of foes, said to Govinda: I will not fight ; and became silent.
